    YES OMMIGOD like I don’t want to diminish or underrepresent the very real harms that come with being queer, but they are all from heterosexist shitbags, from our hateful society that teaches us to hate ourselves, and nothing to do intrinsically with being queer, which is wonderful, which makes me more happy than I can possibly ever say

    because this may come as a shock to you, o reader of my tumblr, but I LOVE BEING QUEER, I love liking girls, I love talking about girls, I love kissing girls, I will love kissing girls on their ladybits when the occasion arises

    but more importantly I love me queer, I love the confidence in myself that I have now, because since accepting myself as queer I’ve begun accepting and loving a host of other beautiful things about myself— my body and my desires and my frustrations— that I previously tried to rip apart or deny or repress.

    I love the freedom that being queer has given me from trying to force myself into a perfect model of a girl, like I used to try really hard to be acceptable as a Girl, e.g. to be attractive to boys, but now, if this makes any sense, being queer has already made me an aberration in a really crucial way, has freed me from certain obligations I used to force myself to, and so now I can explore myself with short hair and myself in skirts and myself sweet and myself angry, and just ask, do you like this? Fuck everything else, does this make you happy? 

    And yes! It does!
